Our Services
Different situations require different services.
Since terms like 'translation', 'revision' and 'proofreading' can mean different things to different people, specifying your requirements
and expectations is key to securing optimal results.
Translating
Rendering content written in one language into equivalent content in another language, using the expertise, linguistic skills and human judgement of a native speaker of the source language, assisted by an array of modern tools.
QUICK TIPS FOR TRANSLATIONS
Cross-checking
Ensuring the accuracy of a translation by comparing it with the source text from which it was derived and making any necessary changes to ensure that the two language versions are equivalent. This is an integral part of any translation, but may also make sense as a standalone service, to verify the equivalence of existing language versions of content that is meant to be the same or to assess the quality of translations produced by internal or external suppliers.
Revising
Removing grammatical and spelling errors from imperfect content written in the reviser's (but perhaps not the author's) native language, to make it flow smoothly and read as if it had been produced by a native speaker who is a skilled writer.
QUICK TIPS FOR Revising
Rewriting
Improving written content, making far more substantial changes to the content than a translator or reviser is entitled to do.
QUICK TIPS FOR REWRITING
Proofreading
Checking content for grammatical, spelling, typographic and layout errors prior to its publication and marking up any errors for the benefit of the publisher, without assessing the substance of the content.
Summarising
Shortening content in a far more radical way than rewriting, either without losing any substantive content or based on a briefing from the customer, by eliminating information of secondary importance to include prioritised content only.
QUICK TIPS FOR SUMMARIES
Copywriting
Writing content in the copywriter's native language from scratch, based on a specific brief and/or source documents or other material.
QUICK TIPS FOR COPYWRITING
